New Territory has new schools, stores, church 
    A Randalls grocery store, a Fort Bend Independent School District elementary school, a private Montessori school, and a day-care center are among the many new retail and educational amenities either now open or scheduled to open this year in New Territory. 
    Markborough's master-planned community at U.S. Highway 59 South and the Grand Parkway.  
    These new amenities, which also include a Methodist church and an Eckerd's drug store, add to a long list of community services now open in New Territory. 
    Strong sales of new homes priced from the $90,000's to $900,000's have attracted major retailers and others to New Territory, where 500 new homes were sold last year. New Territory has approximately 9,500 residents, and a projected population of 17,500 residents upon completion.  
    "Providing schools, churches and a wide variety of retail conveniences for New Territory residents has always been a part of the community's master plan," David Jordan, president of Markborough Development. "It's exciting to see New Territory grow and mature to the point where leading national retailers are now very interested in locating in the community."  
    For children, New Territory's second FBISD elementary school is under construction on a 13-acre site along Cunningham Creek Boulevard. Scheduled to open in August, this state-of-the-art school will be within walking distance of some of New Territory's neighborhoods, including Chapel Bend, Laurel Crest and Crescent Ridge.  
    Cambridge Honors Academy, a private Montessori school, is open at U.S. Highway 90-A and Ellis Creek Blvd., adjacent to the New Territory Country Store in a shopping center which is 100-percent leased to tenants such as The Family Physicians at New Territory. 
    Childtime Childcare has purchased a one-acre site from Markborough Development on Sandhill Drive, just east of the Grand Parkway. This national day-care operator now has a state-of-the-art facility under construction, with plans to open this summer.  
    Several new retail developments at New Territory Boulevard and the Grand Parkway are creating new convenience for New Territory residents 
    A new Randalls grocery store is under construction and planned to open this year, anchoring an 80,000square-foot center featuring other retail stores and services. A planned second phase will add 19,000 more square feet of retail space in the near future.  
    An Eckerd's drug store and an Exxon service station/ convenience store are under development at this intersection.  
    The Methodist Board of Missions of Houston Districts has purchased a five-acre site along the Grand Parkway at New Territory to build a facility for the newly organized Parkway United Methodist Church.  
    Pastor Paul Clines, a New Territory resident, said the new congregation is meeting in New Territory's Walker Station Elementary School until the facility is completed. He said construction could begin within the next two years.  

New Territory enclave begins 
    This weekend, home buyers can preview designs for the first new custom homes now under construction in New Territory's Pecan Park Estates, a gated enclave in an orchard of pecan trees.  
    With features such as bay windows, lanais and covered balconies, these traditional brick and stucco homes have been specially designed to take advantage of their surroundings. 
    Now in the early stages of construction, these homes offer an opportunity to work with New Territory's custom builders to customize floor plans and make personal decorator selections, and move in before the start of school in the Fort Bend Independent School District.  
    For custom home buyers wanting immediate occupancy, New Territory's Pointe Royale offers a variety of completed homes in a gated, waterfront environment, at prices from $324,000 to $432,000.  
Pecan Park Estates   
    Mature pecan trees surround 11 Baileys Court by Westport Homes, $409,000, a four-bedroom home on a corner homesite on a cul-de-sac street. The pastel stucco exterior includes a porte cochere and many architectural details. Inside, the two-story foyer leads to a spiral staircase illuminated by a series of arched windows. 
    Westport Homes also offers 62 Orchard Falls Dr., $429,000. A two-story foyer with an overlooking opera balcony highlights this traditional brick home, which also includes a two-story living room and a paneled study with built-in bookshelves.  
Fedrick,Harris Estate Homes has started two traditional brick homes in Pecan Park Estates, including 19 Stonecliff Circle. With a covered terrace and four rooms with bay windows, this home provides many views of pecan trees in the front and backyards. Interior views feature a two-story foyer with plant ledges and an art niche, and a two-story family room with an overlooking opera balcony. This home also offers a downstairs study or formal living room and an upstairs study or fifth bedroom.  
    Fedrick,Harris also offers 15 Stonecliff Circle, a home with features such as an exercise room, a storage room for sports gear and up to three home office areas.  
Pointe Royale   
    Visitors can tour four available homes priced from $324,000 to $432,000 in New Territory's Pointe Royale.  
    These include 9 Harborview Dr. by Peterson Homebuilders, $419,000, on a waterview cul-de-sac. With lake views from many rooms, this four bedroom brick home includes a two-story family room and two staircases.  
    PineOak Builders offers 17 Clear Springs Court, $432,000, a five bedroom brick home highlighted by a wraparound veranda off the family gathering area. This home has a downstairs master suite and downstairs guest suite, a two-story living room, two staircases and 4½ baths.  
    Fedrick,Harris Estate Homes features 11 Lake Mist Dr., $324,000, a five-bedroom home with formal living and dining rooms, a family room, game room and media room.  
New Territory also offers homes priced from the $240,000s to $300,000s in Spinnaker Cove, a new gated, waterfront enclave on the shores of 15 acre Lake Sartartia.  
    Village Builders and Newmark Home Corp. have completed and nearly completed homes ready to preview this weekend in Spinnaker Cove. New Territory's wooded Preston Forest also offers homes from the $240,000s to $300,000s. This weekend, visitors can tour decorated models and completed homes available for immediate occupancy.  
    The custom home sales center for Pointe Royale and Pecan Park Estates is inside the New Territory Information Center.  

To visit New Territory, take U.S. Highway 59 South, exit and turn right at the Grand Parkway. Turn right at New Territory Blvd. and follow the signs.
