New Territory announces plans for
new day care center
Strengthening
its commitment to providing high quality education programs, New Territory
has announced plans for a private school and day care center. Construction
of Cambridge Honors Academy is slated to begin later this year.
On U.S. Highway 90A and Ellis Creek Boulevard, the three-acre
education center will offer Montessori instruction as well as development
activities for children ranging from 18 months to the third grade. Cambridge
Honors Academy will operate 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
"We are pleased to be apart of New Territory's commitment
to family education," said Surinder Trehan, president of Cambridge Honors
Academy. "Our center will offer a wide variety of children's programs,
including extended care options for working parents, a Montessori program
for children l 8 months through kindergarten, first through third grade
traditional curriculum, and after-school activities."
Cambridge Honors Academy education director Lalita Trehan
has more than l 7 years of experience in child development and Montessori
instruction. "Our mission is to provide children with a nurturing learning
experience, encouraging creativity and development in a positive environment,"
she said.
The development program at Cambridge Honors Academy is designed
to prepare New Territory children to enter Walker Station Elementary School
in New Territory. Walker Station Elementary School, part of the Fort Bend
Independent School District, is one of only 30 schools in Texas chosen
as a "mentor school", serving as a model for other schools across the state.
Parents are encouraged to visit Sugar Creek Children's House for more information.
