"A golf course is a beautiful thing," observed legendary Texas golfer Harvey Penick. This truism has reached new heights with Longwood 's 7,000 yard, par 72 championship course. Its lush, secluded greens and fairways lined witL soaring pines dazzle your senses as much as they fire up your game.
With a forest of magnificent, old trees to wind through, the course was a natural from the start. The rolling landscape incorporates a generous amount of acreage as well as Little Cypress Creek and, unlike many courses designed around a community, there are few homes along the perimeter. "  It looks like it's been there for 30 years," in the words of Longwood Golf Club developer Jack Montgomery.

The four tee box system and entrances to the greens make the game enjoyable for all players but there are plenty of challenges for the low handicapper—smaller greens, patches of wetlands and numerous grassy bunkers add interest to the player-friendly course.
You'll experience a country club atmosphere on the course and in the handsome clubhouse, reminiscent of a Kentucky horse racing pavilion.  A practice range and practice green round out the amenities, which include a pro shop, grille room, patio and outdoor barbecue.
Harry's brother Ted came to visit last week.  No problem.  We put him in the extra bedroom, he has his own bathroom, he plays golf during the day, watches TV at night -- and an extra person in the kitchen you'd never notice, it's so big.  Ted really seems to be settling in.  Says he's never been in a place he liked so much.  Yesterday, he sent for more clothes.  Should I say something?
