Himself an accomplished golfer, Jay was on the professional staff of Winged Foot Golf Club in New York fron 1957-1959 and played the PGA tour in 1959.  His career in golfcourse design and construction began in 1964 when he joined forces with George Fazio.  He later formed the Golf Course Construction Company, Inc. in 1967 to market his expetise in golf course design.  In 1981, Jay partnered with Dave Marr to start Riviere-Marr, Inc.  His tremendous talents are reflected in dozens of magnificent golf courses in Texas, Missouri, California, Louisiana and Michigan, as well as internationally in the Republic of Panama and Nassau, Bahamas.

Jay's attention to creating challenging, private golf settings amid natural lowlands and rolling terrain has positioned him as one of the premeir golf course designers of the 20th century.
