Aerodrome Ice Skating Complex: The 75,000-square-foot facility is complete with food service, pro shops, weight room and rehabilitation facilities. Sharing the 34,000 square feet of ice with the Houston Aeros Professional Hockey Team, the Houston Hockey Association and the Houston Junior Hockey Association will be figure skating classes and exhibitions, hockey and figure skating camps and public skating. Public skating sessions are offered daily.

George Observatory: The largest observatory in the nation, available for public use, has a 36-inch wide telescope. School groups and other tours are available.

Challenger Learning Center: The Fort Bend Challenger Center, located at Brazos Bend State Park, is a living memorial to the seven Challenger astronauts, and serves students in area school districts. The facility is operated by the Houston Museum of Natural Science and is linked to the George Observatory at Brazos Bend State Park, Burke Baker Planetarium and the Challenger Center at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

Brazos Bend State Park: This beautiful 4,800 acres of Brazos River bottom land is plentiful with live oaks and lakes.  Among the wildlife are white-tail deer, coyotes, waterfowl and alligators.  Facilities include: screened shelters, recreation hall, rest rooms, showers, picnic areas, fishing, nature trails and campgrounds.

Museum of Southern History: Historic displays of weapons and swords, pictures of battles, artifacts and tape recorded histories are featured.  The museum is located on FM 359 near Pecan Grove Plantation Country Club.

Fort Bend County Fair: One of the largest county fairs in the state, the fair draws nearly 200,000 people each fall.  Visitors enjoy parades featuring local school and civic bands, floats, drill teams and more.  This nine-day event offers lots of food, rides, auctions, youth and adult exhibits and country dancing.

Fort Bend Czech Fest: Held the first full weekend in May at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds, this exciting event offers continuous family style entertainment, ethnic food and dancing. 

George Ranch: Open to the public, this 23,000-acre working ranch includes a restored Victorian mansion, blacksmith shop and other farm buildings The historic landmark offers living history demonstrations performed each week-end from April through December.

Imperial Sugar Refinery: This ultra modern refinery stands on the same site where the first cane sugar in Texas was produced in 1843.  Tours of the refinery are free and conducted Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.  During the tours, visitors walk within a few feet of operating machinery and can get a true feeling of the sugar refining process.

Texian Market Days: A festival presented by the Fort Bend Museum Association, Texian Market Days is held during October at the George Ranch Historical Park on FM 762.  The event features hundreds of costumed participants and demonstrators that bring to life the sights, sounds and colors of more than 100 years of history.  Entertainers, vintage autos, craft and food vendors and more add to this exciting weekend.
