FBISD actively involves parents and the community it serves in the education of its students.  In addition to the more traditional role of volunteer or business partner, parents and community members serve on a variety of district leadership committees, and take an active role in the development of district decisions that impact the education process.

FBISD is one of the fastest growing districts in the nation. A reputation for providing quality educational opportunities for all students is evidenced by the district's 40 National Merit Scholar Semifinalists, the millions of dollars in scholarships awarded each year to students, elementary and secondary test scores well above the state and national averages, state and nationally recognized fine arts programs, and a growing number of campuses rated exemplary or recognized by the Texas Education Agency's Successful Schools Program.
