Meadows
Population: 5,478*

Meadows has the distinction of being the newest and smallest of Fort Bend's suburban municipalities.  It is also one of the closest to Houston.  Located on the North side of U.S. 59, the city is runs along W. Airport Boulevard from the Fort Bend County Line to Diary Ashford.  The City is bordered by Houston to the Northeast, Stafford to the South and by Sugar Land to the West.

Residential Subdivisions include The Meadows and Meadow Glen .  Most homes have between 1,600 and 2,300 square feet and sell from the $60,000s to the $110,000s.  The City has had two major building booms. The first boom ran from late 1969 to 1974 and another started in 1980 and ended in 1984. The vast majority of residential homes were built during these two periods. Some new construction has begun within the last two years with prices ranging from $120,000 to $150,000.

Residents of The Meadows are zoned to Meadows Elementary, Dulles Middle School and Dulles Senior High in FBISD. 


Missouri City

Incorporated in 1956, Missouri City is a growing community of over 48,000 residents. Approximately 80 percent of the city lies in Ft. Bend County and 10 percent lies in Harris County. The city is served by the Fort Bend Independent School District.

Homes in the community are priced from $50,000 to $250,000. Two golf courses and many city and county parks provide recreational opportunities for residents. New home construction is available throughout subdivisions in Missouri City.

Subdivisions include Quail Valley, Lake Olympia, Brightwater and Hunter's Glen. A new planned community is being developed in Missouri City that has the potential to double the size of the community. The new Sienna Plantation, which is planned to have 15,000 singlefamily homes and town homes when complete, will open in 1996.


Richmond

Imperial SugarSugar Land

The state's oldest company, Imperial Sugar, is located in Sugar Land, hence its name. The sugar refinery still operates in the city's old business district. While its heritage is important, Sugar Land planners have their eye on the future.

The community has been built with extreme care, taking into consideration many lifestyle considerations. Residents of Sugar Land and the surrounding communities are recreation-oriented with three highly regarded golf courses. Also located nearby are the Brazos Bend State Park and the George Observatory (the largest observatory in the country devoted primarily to public use).

Homebuilders throughout the area build in the region, with homes starting from $100,000 upwards to $500,000. Among the developments in this community are sections of First Colony and the communities of Hall Lake, Sugar Creek, Sugar Lakes, Sugar Mill and Venetian Estates.


Stafford

Stradling US 59 and the County Line, Stafford is home to a cluster of technology firms and is the gateway to Fort Bend. The City's population swells to over 50,000 people during the work day and is home to over 12,000 residents within its seven square miles.  The community offers affordable housing and the high standard of living common to all residents of Fort Bend County.  Major subdivisions in Stafford, including Crestmont Village, Dove Country, Grove West, Kingsway, Promenade, South Meadows, Stafford Run, Sugar Creek, Vaccaro Manor and Woodland West offer a variety of housing options that range from $37,000 to more than $150,000.   Some estates in Stafford sell for over$1 million.  New housing as well as an ample stock of pre-owned homes are available.
