Kingwood
Kingwood, "The Livable Forest," lies hidden in the piney forests of northeast Houston. Called home by more than 50,000 people, the master-planned community of Kingwood is a unique combination of residential villages, parks, shops, more than 58 miles of private hike and bike trails and private community swimming pools.
Kingwood covers 13,000 acres divided into 14 villages, each with its own neighborhood association and each with a varying home price scale.
Kingwood is part of the highly rated award-winning Humble Independent School District, where over 89% of the students go on to college. Humble ISD serves more than 18,000 students in its 18 schools that cover a 90 square mile area.
Kingwood's five picturesque championship golf courses provided the setting for the hit film Tin Cup (1996). On December 11, 1996, Kingwood was annexed by the City of Houston, and is now served by Houston's public works, police and fire departments.
